The House of Records & Rabbits is a small garden cottage nestled in a lovely Kirkland backyard, designed as a cozy retreat for a family member, their cherished record collection, and a very lucky rabbit. A gently curved interior wall provides a soft separation between the introspective media room and a kitchen-dining area that opens onto a garden patio.
Sited near a landmark Douglas fir, the design required careful collaboration between architect, structural engineer, and arborist to develop a foundation strategy that avoids damaging the tree’s root system during and after construction.
The project is currently in the design development phase and is set for completion in late 2025.
